Australia is bigger than the contiguous USA. If you had eight days in the USA what would you expect to see? New York, Niagara Falls, Los Angeles, New Orleans, Las Vegas, the Grand Canyon, Yellowstone… ooops, I’ve run out of time.
What do you want to see? The tropical north? the red centre? the cities? the beaches? You can’t see everything in eight days. I would suggest four days in Sydney then four days in Cairns for the Great Barrier Reef, the Daintree and the Atherton Tablelands; or four days in Alice Springs including Uluru; or four days in Darwin taking in Kakadu National Park.
There are plenty of things to see but eight days is not long enough to see all of them.
